This search and recue marker device has been designed in co-operation with Special Forces and Military experts in order to detect and mark friendly forces in enemy territory. Signalling the soldier by infra-red or by using visual illumination (normal light) in order to help prevent friendly fire situations.
It is also extremely easy to activate and use and also has a vibrate alert to the power and mode settings.
The TLS has 3 illumination modes:
Mode 1 is set up for urban terrain and operates with only 50% of its illumination power. This is designed to avoid blinding other members of the team whilst still allowing easy use of night vision equipment.
Mode 2 is utilised by ground forces operating in open terrain. This mode operates at 100% of the illuminating power and can be seen for up to 3Kms.
Mode 3 allows visual illumination enabling the user be seen clearly and signal his/her whereabouts in emergency search and rescue situations. Mode 3 is also used for training purposes.
All 3 modes, as described above, are set for blinking in a special rhythm that allows recognition by other friendly forces.
The TLS has a small LED light which changes colour when the battery has less than 5 hours power available.
Unlike its competitors the TLS is completely invisible to the naked eye (when in IR mode) and can be attached to a soldiers helmet by a Picatinny rail thus allowing 360 degrees of visibility. This also allows the unit to be fitted to a weapon, vest or equipment bag. The TLS lightweight design and modest dimensions make it an ideal addition to any wilderness survival kit to ensure personal safety on long-range outdoor activities.
The search and rescue unit operates via a single 3v. Lithium CR123 battery (Included).
