Powered by 1 x PP3 (9 volt) battery this unit can be set to give  a scan every 10 seconds to alert the user as quickly as possible to  any contamination, or a more accurate scan every 10 minutes.

The unit has an array of colour coded vertical lights, each denoting a rate of exposure from 0 to greater than 7.5 micro-sieverts per hour and also gives a "low battery" warning..
