This system is designed specifically for the business or government user.

It is a compact and portable voice and fax encryptor that operates ‘in-line’ between the phone or fax, and the telephone wall socket.

The sophisticated operating system offers a number of options that allow the device to be configured to meet different user requirements.  These include default settings for voice of fax communications, adjustment of send and receive signal levels and user identification codes.  Full control of the system is via a password-protected soft menu.

Closed user groups can be achieved by programming a customised corporate code which can be used with or without pin modification.  A PC-based programme is available to government users to allow complete customisation of the algorithm or random number generator.  In addition a global code permits secure communication between different organisations.

The algorithm in the 200-XL uses an analogue encryption environment with 128-bit key length, as specified in the US patent.  The advantages of these techniques include:

• No need for synchronisation and consequent reconnection on low quality telephone lines.
• Encrypted data is unavailable in the form required for conventional code breaking.
• Users can change code at any time, or switch between encrypted and non-encrypted communications.
• Secure conference calls can be conducted with an unlimited number of participants.

Please note that the recipient of calls made using the 200-XL must have a matching unit to allow encryption to be ‘unscrambled’.
